1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Mileage: 85,500. This is a two owner car. The original owner sold it to the second owner to buy a house (the second owner was a real estate broker). This Camaro started life as a give-away car from Coca-Cola as part of a Sprite promotion. That explains the white and green color scheme. It has 85000+ original miles and it has never been bent or had any body damage. Everything is there and it is “rock stock” apart from the Cragar S/S wheels. So if one were inclined to restore to a stock condition. The engine tuned and it runs very well with the original Quadra jet, no smoke or funny noises. It drives great, does not pull, there is no abnormal wear on the tires, and it stops straight and well.
Very solid and laser straight with no cancer, paint bubbling behind the lower rear corner of the passengers door. the doors seem to sag over time, not bad at all. All of the trim is in good shape, there are no cracks or damage to any of the body fairings, flares or spoilers. All of the glass is in good shape and the windows roll up and down perfectly. The car was garaged during the winter, heavily undercoated in the engine compartment as well as being “rust proofed” long ago.
The interior is in very nice shape. The headliner is starting to fall in. The seats are in excellent shape except for some typical wear on the driver’s seat left bolster. The carpet has had floor mats, so the carpet is nice below the mats but there is a slight color difference if you take the mats out as I did for the pictures.
The exhaust system is completely rusted out, and there is surface rust over many of the suspension components. However I don’t see any indication that there are issues with the front sub-frame or the body underneath.
