1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster painted in yellow with a black Alcantra/leather interior, this car is one of 132 produced between 1997 and 1999 for the U.S. market, and its main attraction is both its near-sinister appearance and the viscous traction (VT) all-wheel-drive system. This adaptation could direct up to 25 percent of the torque to the front wheels to aid traction when rear-wheel slip was detected, significantly increasing the handling prowess of the vehicle. The roadster configuration further used an electrically operated targa top, which stored above the engine lid when not in service. Also altered from the fixed-top VT model was a revised front bumper and headlamp configuration, with a final top-speed rating of 202 MPH. Horsepower comes from the mid-mounted 5.7L/485 HP V-12 engine, with dual external air intakes and body-paint-matched valve covers. This transfers power through a 5-speed manual transmission and the special differential layout. A carbon-fiber rear wing works in conjunction with other body-fitted aero-stylings to keep the car tight to the pavement. Bold yellow Brembo brake calipers with Lamborghini script logo markings will be put to appropriate use as well. Inside the luxury interior is an upgraded Alpine stereo head unit with a JL audio amplifier, brushed suede-leather bucket seating and dash trim, performance-design seat belts, emergency window cranks and windshield head cushions. This car even uses carbon-fiber windshield wiper attachments. Named for a legendary bull of the 19th century, the Diablo VT was never a car for the masses, built for the serious enthusiast who respects its fearsome capabilities. With the owner’s manual and tool kit both included, this Lamborghini Diablo VT is sure to continue its headstrong legacy under new ownership. The current owner recently had an engine out rebuild by the famous Evans Automotive (George Evans) for a cost nearly $40,000. Owner has all of the 2013 invoices (George Evans)
