1963 VOLVO PB544 The photos do not do justice to this Volvo built in Sweden justice. It has been restored to pristine condition and the current owner had upgraded many things well above factory original.
The B18 Sport model was 1.8L vs 1.6L and it came with originally with dual SU carbs and manifold plus a new SS linkage. Stock this set up put out about 109HP. The SU setup was replaced with a Weber carb and it improved the performance and is much easier to keep tuned. The original carbs and manifold are included. This is a manual 4 speed. The original mechanical fuel pump was replaced with an electrical fuel pump.
Everything works except the speedometer is noisy and probably needs to have the cable replaced or have the speedometer rebuilt. The odometer is working, but the trip odometer is difficult to set. The horn also needs replaced (non-working). There is no rust on this vehicle and it has been garaged for most of its life. Originally a California car, but was purchased in Florida in 2018. Now resides near Boise, Idaho in Nampa. 83686 for transport quotes.
Two sets of virtually new tires come with it. Original style black walls and top-quality Coker vintage whitewalls in 165X78X15.
Front and rear US bumpers are the desirable towel rack style. The running lights are not Volvo brand, but were used on this car and they come with VOLVO brand covers. See pic.
The dash is all original and looks superb. Notice a high-quality temp/tack/clock curved glass accessory gauge was added below dash. While the radio looks stock with the original Volvo faceplate, but it is a high end RetroSound brand of AM-FM-Bluetooth-Aux stereo with exceptional sound. Speakers are hidden in the kick panels in front and the package tray in the rear. They include full range high end speakers and there is a large sub-woofer box under the passenger seat.
The white paint is flawless, as is the interior upholstery, carpet and headliner. No disappointments!
