1979 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. Iconic, 60 years + in development, this original Land Rover is based upon the success of the World War II Jeep (Ford GPW & Willys MB), its introduction at the 1948 Amsterdam Auto Show set the mold for decades to come. Due to post-war steel shortage, and aluminum surplus, Land Rovers received non-rusting aluminum alloy bodies, providing longevity. In 1992, Land Rover claimed that 70% of all the vehicles were still in use. Featuring a leaf-spring suspension with selectable two or four-wheel drive (4WD).
