1946 Armstrong Siddeley Hurricane Drop Head Coupe was one of the first British automakers to resume production after World War II. They continued to use the pre-war 16 hp OHV six-cylinder engine, but placed it in an advanced independent-front-suspension chassis graced with modern styling. The newcomers' independent front suspension was a first for Armstrong Siddeley, and used Girling hydro-mechanical brakes. There was a choice of traditional pre-selector or four-speed synchromesh transmissions. This Hurricane's history is not known but it has definitely been selectively refreshed in Fawn and Brown with harmonizing Red upholstery and matching carpet. The convertible top is operational and pictures to follow. The car starts up, runs and drives well, is currently registered and insured and has passed state inspection when last on the road in 2022. Overall, it is a nice example of a rare British marque, sure to draw attention wherever it is seen.
