Description

1965 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. Originally a 327/300 h.p. car in Tuxedo Black with white rag top and black hard top. It is not a #'s matching car. Only 65,000 original miles. A brand new 350 engine was installed with rebuilt fuelie 2.02 heads, an aluminum Edelbrock intake, etc. to build out a 350/400 h.p. roller engine. It has less than 600 miles on it. The original 4 speed shifts flawlessly. Options include original telescoping steering column with the original gorgeous teakwood wheel, factory 4 wheel disc brakes (rare), original AM/FM radio that works, power antenna, clock (just quit working last week), heater (works great), auxiliary hard top (nice but not perfect). All of the glass is excellent. The birdcage and frame are perfect with never any rust. The white soft top is in excellent condition as are the door panels. Original shifter and console are nice. Could really use new carpet. Dash and components are nice. New side exhaust (it was originally optioned on this car). The emerald green metal flake paint is just good driver quality with numerous paint chips fixed and was done in the early 80's. The body received the following modifications from the California dealer where it was sold new: custom mild flaring on the front fenders and top of rear wheel openings, the front bumper and the side mirror on the door were removed, and a backup light was installed making a total of 6 lights instead of 4. The current owner has installed factory style mirrors on both doors (not shown) for drivability. There are a few small stress cracks over the right rear wheel that are surface and do not go through that would be simple to fix . This was the custom look everybody in California wanted for their Vette back in the mid to late 1960's. There are likely few left. It has all new front and rear suspension bushings and KBG gas shocks in both the front and rear. It rolls on American Racing slotted dish mags wrapped in new 215/70/R15 radial tires.
