Description

1960 Ford Thunderbird  with the Golde sunroof. About 2,500 were ever made, which T-bird experts believe there are only a few hundred left out there. How true that really is, I'll never know, but they still are a rare sight.
He's owned it since 1984, and it's been garage kept since then. Everything is in fairly good shape for it's age. In the past twenty years it hasn't been driven much. Once or twice a year maybe around the block, to church, or to the gas station is about it. I usually fire it up several times a year just cause. Carb could use a tune up, and the mufflers have got some holes in them so it sounds cammed. I've never tested the Air conditioner, but I'm sure it's empty and non-functional by now, however, someone may know how to fix it and that person isn't me. Other than that everything is functional as far as I know including the stereo and electric seats.
He claimed the engine smoked quite badly after a while, so he had it overhauled at Bountiful Ford in 2001. Paperwork is provided. The engine has had very few miles on it since then. Over the past few years I've tinkered with it and replaced some brake hard-lines, coolant reservoir, and driver side door glass. Tires will need to be replaced as they are cracking and from the early 90s. The trunk hinge doesn't like to keep the lid up, so a special edition wood stick is provided at no extra charge.
Now onto the weird stuff. The breakdown of the VIN shows it is a 7.0l hardtop with a 3spd auto which is correct to my knowledge. The data plate decoder shows the exterior color as being brown, and interior as beige. My grandfather bought it as white exterior and black interior. He claims the owner he purchased it from never did a restoration. So, armed with that information I'm inclined to say the entire interior has been swapped, and the exterior was painted very professionally at some point, not some Maaco presidential special. Or, less likely, the plate is wrong.
